We are delighted to announce that we have ordered our boat!

The Rannoch R45 is the fastest Ocean rowing boat in the world (currently holding the world record Atlantic crossing in 29 days 14 hours 34 minutes, amongst many other records).

This platform will be the stronghold and the home of our crew of 4 Submariners on our trans-Atlantic challenge! The R45, now in build at Rannoch Adventures will be handed to us in July 2019 to complete our intensive training program. With a length of 28.35ft and beam of 5.71ft, space will certainly be a premium, though not an unknown to us as Submariners.  Our two 6ft cabins at each end will sleep the crew (3 of us are 6ft 4 which may get cosy) allowing our shift rotation of 2 hours rowing and 2 hours resting across the ocean.

Our ocean rowing boat is the ultimate blank canvas/floating billboard that will be shown around the world and presents an opportunity for our partners and sponsors to raise the profile and brand perception of their company on a national and international scale.

This milestone would not have been possible without the support of our first GOLD PARTNER Greenwich Hospital, a fantastic charity who have been supporting the Royal Navy since 1694.

Greenwich Hospital provides charitable support, sheltered housing and education to both serving and retired personnel of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and their dependants.  Their mission is to inspire, encourage and enable members of the Royal Naval family to realise their full potential in life both during and after service, and to provide a guiding and supportive hand when needed.  We are absolutely delighted to be working alongside Greenwich Hospital and look forward to collaborating, both through engagements with their projects and also as our ally throughout our own charity fundraising campaign.

A big thank you also goes to all our Bronze partners: Molecular products, BMT and Kitworld… You have all contributed to making this exciting milestone possible! We would also like to thank our 500, 250 and 100 club members for your generous donations: Kelly Carmichael, Questgates Ltd, John & Shirley Robinson; we look forward to having your names printed on HMS Oardacious!

Please spread the word and find out how you could be a part of the adventure!
