Take part in the HMS Oardacious 50K Rowing Challenge!
It’s simple - Row 50km either solo, or in a relay team to raise money for charity.
Raise over £50 to receive an HMS Oardacious T-shirt, and compete for prizes for The Fastest Team, The Fastest Individual and The Most FundRaised for charity.
Throughout the campaign we have had no shortage of “what can I do to help?” and “how can I get involved?” well, ask no further!
The Official HMS Oardacious 50km Challenge is welcome to anyone and everyone…no matter your fitness levels or ability. Our Charity project is all about Mental health and wellbeing. There is evidence that shows that being active can improve an individual’s Mental Wellbeing.
The Challenge: It’s simple - 1 rowing machine, 50km rowed as fast as possible. This can either be attempted as a solo effort or in relay teams of up to 10 rowers.
Charity Fundraising: Participants are invited to create a team name under the HMS Oardacious campaign. Just follow this link - click “start fundraising” - enter your details and get sharing!
If you would like collection tins and very cool Charity T-Shirts, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org and specify: your team name, number of t-shirts, sizes required and a postal address for delivery.
The Leaderboard: This is a competition and all final times and funds raised will be recorded on our leader board below. There will be 3 competitions: The Fastest Team, The Fastest Individual and The Most Sponsorship Raised. Each of these 3 categories will have an exclusive HMS Oardacious prize to be announced later in the year. For more info please email email@example.com

The Race Rules -
50km single distance, no intervals.
Single rowing machine (any brand, any resistance) with relay style handovers. (search ‘indoor rowing relay changeover’ for more useful tips).
Team members can be utilised to hold straps (for relay teams).
No limit on the amount of change overs during the race.
Proof of completion: a photo of your result sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Health & Safety -
It’s all about common sense. Follow the professional advice of equipment manufacturers and staff supervising any facilities.
Ensure adequate hydration, sun protection and clothing. Warm-up appropriately for the activity & ensure First aid capability is available. If you’re unsure - consult your GP for advice.
